Tigers

Tigers are the largest cats in the whole entire world.  People live in awe an in fear of these beautiful cats.  They live in awe of the sheer power that is the tiger. They live in fear because because they think that tigers will kill them and eat them.  Only sick or injured tigers would even think about going after a human.  Healthy tigers try to stay as far away from humans as possible.

Tigers are magnificent hunters.  They go for prey as big as a whole grown ox!  Tigers are usually nocturnal. This means that they hunt at night.  The tiger's soft paws help it keep quiet as it sneak up on its unaware prey.  Then, when it thinks the time is is right, it will pounce on its prey and make its kill.  Several tigers may share a kill.

Tigers can live in many places.  Some live in Southern Asia.  They also live in the hot rain forests of Malaya, the dry forest of India, and the snow covered forests of Manchuria.  Cutting down rain forests can limit where tigers can live.  That is why it is so important to recycle and not waste paper.

Poachers are a big threat to tigers.  Poachers are illegal hunters that hunt tigers, gorillas, and other animals for their body parts or their fur.  Laws try to protect tigers and other animals from poachers, but somehow, the poachers still get their kill.  Because of poachers and people cutting down trees, the tiger is now an endangered animal.

If you are wondering how you can help the tigers from becoming extinct, just try to recycle old newspaper which will help by not cutting down as many trees.  If we work together, then we can all help the tigers survive.
